Our adaptation of Howard Waldrop’s short story THE UGLY CHICKENS continues to kick ass and take names out on the film festival circuit. Our latest win came back in March, at the Cinequest festival in San Jose.
We were not able to attend that one is person, but Cinequest was good enough to send us the award.
Howard wrote a helluva lot of great stories in his day — there was no one like him, and never will be — but “The Ugly Chickens” was probably the best known. It won both the Nebula and the World Fantasy Award (a Hugo finalist as well, but that one escaped the chickens). Our film adaptation was scripted by Michael Cassutt, directed by Mark Raso, and starred the amazing Felicia Day.
It’s still out on the circuit, so do check any upcoming film festival near you. You may be lucky enough to catch s screening.
