GAME OF THRONES wins the Radio Times BAFTA AwardMay 13, 2013
The BAFTAs, for those unfamiliar with them, are the British Emmys. So even though Game of Thrones is technically an American Show it’s littered with a grand British cast (most of the rest being Irish, with here and there a Dane, a Norwegian, a German, and even a token American.) In the end it was ineligible for the overall UK based awards however, the Radio Times award, is for the best international show, and unlike the other BAFTAs, it is chosen by popular vote.
“The quality of the writing is superb. I think the character drama is first-rate, and I think the mix of reality with fantasy elements is pretty intoxicating,” said Vogler. “The casting is very strong, the productions values, all the people who have contributed to it in all the different departments – it all seems to work.”
So congratulations to every one on the team of HBO’s Game of Thrones. |
