FOR ITALIANS AND COMPLETISTSOctober 14, 2007
My Italian readers have a unique treat in store.
Mondadori, my Italian publisher, has just released its own edition of my book for young adults, THE ICE DRAGON, based on my old short story of the same title. While the British and American editions of the book were illustrated by marvelous and talented Yvonne Gilbert, Mondadori decided to use Italian artists for its own version. The Italian ICE DRAGON sports a stunning cover painting from Paolo Barbieri, and lovely interior artwork by Luca Enoch, some samples of which are seen here.
It’s a beautiful edition, and one that may well be of interest to GRRM completists and fans of fantasy art, even those who do not read Italian. It won’t be for sale in the United States or the United Kingdom, of course… but thanks to the wonders of the internet, anyone who would like to add a copy to their collection can order over the net here or here.
I can’t wait to get hold of my own copies. (And I’m looking forward to getting back to Italy and signing some of these one day as well).
