Wild Cards fans take note: iBooks has just released a new mass market paperback edition of the third volume in the series, Wild Cards III: Jokers Wild. The story of Wild Cards Day, 1986, the fortieth anniversary of the release of the Takisian virus over Manhattan, Jokers Wild was the first full-on mosaic novel that we attemped, wherein all the characters and plotlines interweave from start to last. The novel stars Fortunato, Wraith and Yeoman, Russian Roulette and Dr. Tachyon, Demise, Sewer Jack, Bagabond, and mine own Jube the Walrus, Hiram Worchester, and Jay (Don’t Call Me Popinjay) Ackroyd. The featured writers were Lewis Shiner, John J. Miller, Melinda M. Snodgrass, Walton (Bud) Simons, Edward, Bryant, Leanne C. Harper, and myself. This new mass market is a reprint of iBooks’ earlier trade paperback edition, and includes interior art by Tom Palmer and a cover by Brian Bolland.
