MEATHOUSE MAN E-Comic October 2013 ReleaseMay 3, 2013
Amazon Kindle will be releasing an E-Comic version of George RR Martins short story entitled MEATHOUSE MAN. This dark and disturbing look into the tremulous emotional state of one man’s mind is hailed as being one of George’s sickest stories to date. It was written in the late 1970s, in response to an invitation from Harlan Ellison, who wanted George to write something for THE LAST DANGEROUS VISIONS ANTHOLOGY. When it was sent in to Harlan, he rejected it… but Damon Knight bought it, and it was originally published in ORBIT 18. Since then it has been featured in a few anthologies including DREAMSONGS, and THE LIVING DEAD. Adapted to its comic form by the talented Raya Golden, whom wrote the script, did the pencils, the inks, the coloring, and the cover art featured below. She envisions this sick sad story as a cautionary tale, and hopes although it may not be “fun” to read that it will strike a cord and give all who try it something to be grateful for.
Amazon’s publishing arm 47 North will be bringing it out in October as an e-book for the Kindle Fire as well as other portable devices such as iPad, iPod and more. A print edition is also possible, but not definite.
That’s MEATHOUSE MAN. Coming this October to a Device near you. |
