Dan Applegate writes, "I wanted to send this to you after seeing all of the pictures fans sent of people, pets, art, etc.- it's really remarkable how we've embraced your books, and the characters in them. I'm a guitarist (as well as a collector, I guess) and I have this tendency (after hearing that BB King named his guitar "Lucille") of naming all of my guitars.......more than a few are named after fictional characters.

I got my first resonator guitar, a chrome-plated brass body beauty that weighs nearly ten pounds. Wow! I had a little trouble naming this one, even after playing her for a couple months, until I re-read "A Game of Thrones" (one of my favorite pastimes, to re-read the series until the new one comes out!) and thought of the perfect name - Brienne.

So, here she is. I thought you might appreciate that it wasn't just the "Beautiful" characters that get immortalized by your fans. And anyway, she's beautiful- kind of like I imagine her in your books. A different kind of beauty, clad in plate mail, but beautiful nonetheless. And she's built for the blues- a really telling reflection of her namesake."
