The NFL is back,\u00a0 and I don’t know whether I should cheer or weep.<\/p>\n
Hope springs eternal, especially for fans of the Giants and Jets.\u00a0\u00a0 Especially this year.\u00a0\u00a0 Both teams had terrific drafts, picked up a lot of great young stars… or players who are supposed to be stars, at least.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Will this be the year we finally turn the corner?<\/p>\n
Then the regular season begins.\u00a0\u00a0 As it did yesterday.<\/p>\n
The Jets opened up the season with the Ravens.\u00a0\u00a0 What can I say?\u00a0\u00a0 Sigh.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Same Old Jets.<\/p>\n
Then came the Giants down in Nashville, with the Titans.\u00a0\u00a0 They fell behind early, and deep into the second half I was figuring I’d be opening this post with “Life is meaningless and full of… ”<\/p>\n
But then, hey, is that Saquon?<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0 He’s running like he used to!\u00a0\u00a0 And the Giants are coming back… oops, behind again… no, wait, hey, driving… TD!!\u00a0\u00a0 They can tie it up… overtime… but, hey, the new coach is going for two!\u00a0\u00a0 And Saquon takes it in!\u00a0\u00a0 We’re up, we’re up!\u00a0\u00a0 We could actually win!\u00a0 Only.. damn… the Titans are driving… they are in field goal range, hell, life is meaningless and full of…. NO!\u00a0 YES!\u00a0 Wide left!\u00a0\u00a0 We win!\u00a0\u00a0 We WIN!<\/p>\n The first opening day victory in years and years for Big Blue.\u00a0\u00a0 And the coach showed real guts.<\/p>\n Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.\u00a0\u00a0 A bright blue light.<\/p>\n Now let’s do it again, guys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The NFL is back,\u00a0 and I don’t know whether I should cheer or weep.
