Who WERE those men in black?<\/p>\n
They couldn’t have been the New York Jets, could they?\u00a0\u00a0 The same team that got spanked by the Falcons and humiliated by the Patriots?\u00a0\u00a0 No way.\u00a0\u00a0 I mean, they did things the Jets have not done all season.\u00a0\u00a0 Scored in the first quarter.\u00a0\u00a0 Took the lead.\u00a0\u00a0 Got first downs.\u00a0\u00a0 Throttled one of the highest scoring offenses in the NFL.\u00a0\u00a0 They ran, they passed, they scored.\u00a0\u00a0 And that quarterback who came off the bench, four years in the NFL and never started a game before… or even played, till last week.\u00a0\u00a0 Mike White?\u00a0\u00a0 Is that his name?\u00a0 I doubt that even Fireman Ed knew it till last week.<\/p>\n
But every Jets fan knows it now.\u00a0\u00a0 He passed for 400 yards!\u00a0 Against a tough Bengals D.\u00a0\u00a0 No Jets quarterback has passed for 400 yards since Vinnie Testaverde, back in the dawn of time.\u00a0\u00a0 Chad Pennington never did it.\u00a0 Mark Sanchez never did it.\u00a0 Fitzmagic never did it, Geno never did it, Sam Darnold never did it.\u00a0\u00a0 Mike White did it.\u00a0\u00a0 He bounced back from a hellacious hit too.\u00a0\u00a0 And he caught the two point conversion on a trick play.<\/p>\n
I love this guy.\u00a0\u00a0 He was everything Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold were supposed to be, but weren’t.<\/p>\n
I know, I know.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s Halloween.\u00a0\u00a0 This must be some kind of trick.\u00a0\u00a0 I will wake up tomorrow and it will be Halloween all over again, and the game will have been a dream… a nightmare for Cincy.\u00a0\u00a0 Then I will have to watch the real game, and it will be a horror.<\/p>\n
But meanwhile… what a treat!<\/p>\n
The Jets should wear those black uniforms every week.<\/p>\n
And Zach can take his time recovering.\u00a0\u00a0 Please.\u00a0\u00a0 I want to see if White is real (please please please please please).<\/p>\n
