{"id":5068,"date":"2018-11-15T13:02:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T20:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/?p=5068"},"modified":"2018-11-15T17:54:25","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T00:54:25","slug":"wild-cards-comes-to-hulu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/2018\/11\/15\/wild-cards-comes-to-hulu\/","title":{"rendered":"Wild Cards Comes to Hulu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By now most of you&#8230; well, those of you who visit other areas of the internet beyond my Not A Blog&#8230; will already have heard the news: Wild Cards is coming to Hulu.\u00a0\u00a0 And not just with a single show, either.\u00a0\u00a0 We are developing two pilots to start with, but the eventual dream is to have three, four, five, six&#8230; many&#8230; series out there streaming.\u00a0 As long time fans know, Wild Cards is not just a series story, but rather a world, a whole universe, with a half century of history, <em>hundreds<\/em> of stories, <em>thousands<\/em> of characters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5074\" src=\"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/wild-cards-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"463\" height=\"164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/wild-cards-logo.png 463w, https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/wild-cards-logo-300x106.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 463px) 100vw, 463px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I am late to the party as far as announcing this, I know.\u00a0 (What can I say?\u00a0 I&#8217;m <em>busy).\u00a0 <\/em>So let me link to just a few of the news stories that broke yesterday when Hulu and UCP went public.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"> <a class=\"moz-txt-link-freetext\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2018\/11\/wild-cards-2-tv-series-george-r-r-martin-books-hulu-andrew-martin-1202501424\/\">https:\/\/deadline.com\/2018\/11\/wild-cards-2-tv-series-george-r-r-martin-books-hulu-andrew-martin-1202501424\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">\u00a0<a class=\"moz-txt-link-freetext\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2018\/tv\/news\/wild-cards-george-rr-martin-hulu-series-1203027787\/\">https:\/\/variety.com\/2018\/tv\/news\/wild-cards-george-rr-martin-hulu-series-1203027787\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">\u00a0 <a class=\"moz-txt-link-freetext\" href=\"https:\/\/io9.gizmodo.com\/george-r-r-martins-superhero-franchise-wild-cards-is-c-1830422891\">https:\/\/io9.gizmodo.com\/george-r-r-martins-superhero-franchise-wild-cards-is-c-1830422891<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Miller will be scripting the pilot(s) for Hulu, and will serve as showrunner for the series.\u00a0\u00a0 A huge fan of comic books and supers in general, and Wild Cards in particular, Andrew has been living and breathing Wild Cards for the past few months, and devouring the books one after another.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5077\" src=\"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/MV5BMTg3MDgyOTY3M15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDY4OTIyOA@@._V1_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/MV5BMTg3MDgyOTY3M15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDY4OTIyOA@@._V1_.jpg 533w, https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/MV5BMTg3MDgyOTY3M15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDY4OTIyOA@@._V1_-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Melinda M.
