{"id":2588,"date":"2011-05-12T18:16:09","date_gmt":"2011-05-12T18:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/?p=2588"},"modified":"2017-09-19T18:55:28","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T18:55:28","slug":"new-cover-for-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/2011\/05\/12\/new-cover-for-the-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"New Cover for the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The good folks at Harper Collins Voyager, my publishers in the United Kingdom and Australia, have informed me that they&#8217;ve changed the cover for the forthcoming DANCE WITH DRAGONS hardcover.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve decided to go with the same cover art as on the American edition, though the design and background colors will vary.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the old UK cover:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/pics.livejournal.com\/grrm\/pic\/000g3cp9\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/import\/000g3cp9\" width=\"313\" height=\"480\" border='0'\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s the new one:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/pics.livejournal.com\/grrm\/pic\/000g4yxt\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/import\/s640x48038\" width=\"310\" height=\"480\" border='0'\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know the long delay with DANCE has frustrated many of you&#8230; but hey, it&#8217;s certainly provided a lot of gainful employment for book designers and cover artists.  I wonder if I deserve a line in the Guinness Book of World Records: the unpublished book with the most covers.<\/p>\n<p>This one should stick, though.<\/p>\n<p>July 12.
