{"id":2418,"date":"2011-09-01T18:13:27","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T18:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/?p=2418"},"modified":"2017-09-19T17:56:49","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T17:56:49","slug":"still-dancing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/2011\/09\/01\/still-dancing\/","title":{"rendered":"Still Dancing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My dragons continue to dance&#8230; around the top of the NY TIMES bestseller list.<\/p>\n<p>The latest list (for 9\/11) will have A DANCE WITH DRAGONS still at #2 for hardcover fiction, one slot below the latest big debut, Kathy Reichs&#8217; FLASH AND BONES.<\/p>\n<p>The week before (the 9\/4) list also had DANCE at #2, this time behind the new Terry Goodkind fantasy, which debuted that week.<\/p>\n<p>And the week before that (the list for 8\/28) saw DANCE back at #1, after falling to #2 the previous week\/<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pics.livejournal.com\/grrm\/pic\/000ed35c\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/georgerrmartin.com\/notablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/import\/s640x48012\" width=\"315\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; seven weeks and counting, all at #1 or #2.  Not half bad.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Stieg Larson&#8217;s THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET&#8217;S NEST has been on the list for 66 weeks as of the September 11 list, and THE HELP for 106 weeks, so we need to keep this all in perspective.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m a happy writer.  Seven gods, seven kingdoms, seven books, seven weeks near the top&#8230; I&#8217;ll take it, and hope for more.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks again to all of you, my readers.
